We have increased  our products over the winter. We offer beautiful fabric art and creative products from across the state. We have doubled our inventory of minerals and semiprecious stone and shell. We have also increased our spiritual items and are waiting for even more to come.
Check out the new map of things to do in Southern Door County. You can get one from many of the local business, including our Gallery. Stop by and take a look!.
We are typically open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, from 10:00 to 5:00. We are also participating in a number of outdoor shows  so check for the banner along the west side of Hwy 57 just north of  Brussels. When the banner is out, we are open!

The Tornado Tavern Gallery is OPEN

Well we’ve been open long enough to find some of the things that have to be “fine tuned”. We knew that there would be things to do after the gallery was actually open and doing business but we needed to get the doors open. Presently the gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 10 AM to 5 PM.
With the gallery open I’m finally getting back to making items to sell mostly with mineral and gemstones items at this time. I have a large stock of Rhodolite (pink garnet), Vanadinite (in the Apatite group), Malachite in a drusy form, Chrysocolla (related to copper), Conicalcite (related to copper), and quartz in crystalline form. The colors are quite stunning and I’ll be offering them in a number of ways.
We will also have a “Make Your Own Choker” corner, where customer will have a choice of beads and pendants to make their own chokers. There will be items that will appeal to folks of all ages and the chokers all have magnetic clasps.
The gallery will be open for the last weekend in June and the first weekend in July but we will also have our big tent set up at the Door County Renaissance Faire on those weekends.

The Faire is in its fourth year and is growing fast, it is on a smaller site than the older events but has all their attractions. There will be jousters, jesters, magicians, fire eaters, fairies, pirates and more. We hope to see you there, stop by and tell us if you like the gallery.

Update to the Tornado Tavern Gallery

Our good news is that the Town of Brussels has, unanimously, approved our request for a Variance to the Agricultural zoning, allowing us to open a retail business. Everything that has been waiting for this approval can go forward. The biggest item is our roadside sign, the sign will be visible on the left, just past County Road H for North bound traffic and, just past Stevenson Pier Road, to the right for South bound traffic. The sign will look like this;

The building looks like this from Highway 57

We are also receiving commitments from artists who want to have their work in the gallery. So far we will have wearable art (shawls, socks, scarves), fiber decorations, blown glass items, lampwork items (beads, icicles) lithic cutting tools (antiquities, repaired antiquities and new points), prints of original paintings, jewelry (silver, wire wrap, amulets, etc.), polished stones, garden glass, garden decorations, geode art, tarot cards, talismans, rune stones and casting, wood and stone art, and more coming.

Watch for the OPEN flags on Memorial Day!

Welcome to the Tornado Tavern Gallery

The physical gallery is scheduled to open around Memorial Day of 2013. We plan on providing quality handcrafted items primarily from Wisconsin artists but will also include artists from Iowa and Northern Illinois.

 Prior to starting the gallery we have participated in Wisconsin arts and craft shows, Renaissance fairs, Rendezvous and other specialty events for about 30 years.

We sold various types of handcrafted items appropriate for the theme of the show.

We have also given classes in the skills that we developed over the years, including fiber spinning, natural dyes, knapping and stained glass.

This site is currently under construction but is growing, look around and comment on what you see.
