INTRODUCING NEW ARTISTS

Good Day friends, as always I wish you all the best for the higher good. I just spent time with a marvelous artist couple, Casi and Ron Berry. They have agreed to place some of their products in the Tornado Tavern Gallery and I am pleased to say the least.
Casi will be offering her woven wire necklaces, bracelets and earrings. They come in many colors and in addition to those in the galley she takes orders for other colors. Presently she focuses on jewelry she calls “Fan Maille” where she uses team colors to make her jewelry. She will have Packer colors or Badger colors or local High School teams and for those “mavericks” she will make jewelry with color from those other teams.
Ron is offering cast figurines from models that he has made. At the moment he is making frogs in several poses. The figurines are cast from non-lead metal and are usually painted to bring out the detail and personality of the frog. The figurines are available alone or mounted on a base of your choice.
We plan on having their work in place very soon; their work can also be seen on Etsy.
Please stop by we are normally open from Thursday through Sunday 10 to 5, watch for the OPEN flags to be sure. See us on FaceBook, search “tornado tavern gallery” for more information.

TORNADO TAVERN GALLERY will be at the SHAWANO FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL this weekend

Hello friends, Mary will open the gallery at the usual times. Friday might be a late opening as we will be setting up the “field gallery” Friday morning.

The Shawano event is actually a highly thought of events in the folk Wisconsin circles. They have good food vendors and quite a few craft and arts booths spread out in the Mielke Park and Mielke Arts Center at N5649  Airport Road, check out their FB page for directions.

I won’t be participating in the “open mic” sessions this year I used to join in with, my friend Dean “Jingles” Sauers and had a great time, maybe next year. The "buck-skinner camp" is fondly known as "Bullfrog Flats" and visitors will find some pretty interesting folks there. There may even be some impromptu music in the evening.

If you have time com'on down and visit, if you're not careful you'll end up having a good time!

Hello and Good Day to all from the Tornado Tavern Gallery in lovely Southern Door County

There is a lot to do “down peninsula” from Sturgeon Bay, stop by the gallery to get your FREE FUN MAP of Southern Door. It shows many of the attractions and things to do in Southern Door.
Rumor has it that starting August 4th there will be lane closures for highway repair. The way it looks most of the closures will be closer to Sturgeon Bay so it’s a perfect time to take a look around friendly Southern Door. Check out the Tornado Tavern Gallery FB page to get up to speed on fun in the area.
News Flash!
The Tornado Tavern Gallery is doing it’s civic duty and has been designated as the official Lost Marbles Reclamation Center for Door County. Those who have lost their marbles in Door County or plan to loose their marbles in Door County can stop by the gallery to see if they were turned in. If your marbles have not been turned in there is no need to fret. We have marbles that have not been claimed and maybe it’s time for you to try out some new marbles, so select some strange marbles and “see what happens”.
See you when you get here!
What? too many references to Southern Door County? Can’t happen, check it out, you’ll see.

WHAT A GREAT DAY IN SOUTHERN DOOR COUNTY!

Hello all. what a great day in Southern Door County.
The Tornado Tavern Gallery Shibori demonstration, given by Mary Silver, was a success. Mary finished a number of scarves and even tried a few variations that she had not used before.

I spent some time in the studio finding ways to present the beautiful glass we have in inventory. I also spent some  preparing for my knapping demonstration tomorrow and in the process finished several new arrow heads. Well the green one needs a little work, I'll finish it tomorrow. I’ve selected a number of interesting chunks of glass that I will use to knapp some effigy pendants

We received complements on our new banners and even on our highway sign.

We hope to see some of you sometime this summer, good luck and talk to you later.
